Pentecost Sunday

Today is Pentecost Sunday! Pentecost celebrates the arrival of the Holy Spirit. Jesus’ promise to send his Advocate has been fulfilled. Those who witness to the good news of Jesus are able to do so with the empowerment of God’s Spirit, which breathed life at creation and breathes new life into what he re-creates. Because of the Spirit, the church exists and is sent into the world to be God’s people—people who are no longer bound by nationality, socioeconomic status, gender, or race. Because of Pentecost, we are empowered by God to do every good thing to which he has called us.
